What would you say if you could write to your younger self?
This sacred pause is more than reflection—it’s an extension of grace. Truthfully, thoughts of accusation replay old wounds, whisper old lies, and forget the mercy we can extend to ourselves as well as to others. What if, instead of accusation, you looked back through the eyes of a wiser you—full of compassion, truth, and healing—and spoke peace and triumph over the person you once were?
Dear Younger Me, You were never meant to carry this pain alone. I wish I could wrap my arms around you right now and whisper into your soul: It wasn’t your fault.
What happened was evil. It was not fate.
You didn’t deserve it. And I need you to hear that again—you did not deserve it.
You may feel broken. Shattered. Dirty. Like the light inside you has gone out. But here is what you must know: You were not abandoned in that moment. And the shame you carry? It was never yours to wear.
The fear that stalks your mind? It does not have the final word.
The voice that says you’ll never be whole again? That voice is a lie.
One day, you’ll realize this didn’t ruin you—it revealed the fierce, unrelenting strength within you. You are not what happened to you. You are who God says you are: redeemed, restored, and rising. And your story—yes, even the painful parts—will become a source of light for someone else.
Your voice will rise again. Your body will be a temple of courage again. Your heart will love without fear again.
And I’ll be here—an older, wiser you—cheering you on every step of the way.
Healing is your inheritance. Wholeness is your promise. You are not alone. With tear-streaked love and unwavering hope,
Kathy
